Atlas Copco's Scooptram ST18

Atlas Copco launched the new Scooptram ST 18, an 18 tonne capacity LHD designed for large operations. The new loader is powered by a 450 hp Cummins QSX15 EPA Tier 3/EU Stage IIIA engine.

Sandvik's DD21 Underground Development Drill for Narrow-Vein Applications

The new Sandvik DD21 underground hard rock mining development drill was designed for tight working envirements with radii as little as 2.5 m. The new undreground drill rig is standard fitted with a SB20 Boom, providing coverage up to 26 sqm. Optionally, the DD21 Drill Rig can be fitted with the new Sandvik SB20NV boom, which incorporates a CFX 6/12 telescopic feed.

DD422i Axera Underground Hard Rock Drill Rig

Sandvik announced the new DD422i Axera development drill rig, which will be released on the market during 2014. The new machine is part of the company's next generation underground hard rock drill rigs and is compatible with the newly released Sandvik AutoMine Drilling fleet and information management system.

Sandvik's Underground Truck TH663

TH663 is a 63-tonne underground mining truck from Sandvik, currently in production trials at a gold mine in Australia. The TH663 is powered by a Cummins QSK19 diesel engine, rated at 567 kW. The new truck was introduced at MinExpo 2012 in Las Vegas and will replace the TH660 Mine Truck.

The EL 1000 Longwall Shearer from Cat

Caterpillar Global Mining dispalys at Longwall USA the new shearer model, the EL 1000. The new equipment is designed for heights from 63 to 126 inches, will deliver an estimated cutting power of 1600 horsepower (1000 kW), and will provide haulage power on the order of 2 x 134 horsepower (2 x 100 kW).

Boltec S: The New Compact Bolting Rig from Atlas Copco

Atlas Copco launched a new compact rig for rock bolting, called Boltec S. The new rig fitts in the smallest tunnels and mines, in drifts as low as 2.8 meters and up to 7.5 meters. The Boltec S is fully mechanized and can be equipped with the new 14 kW COP 1435 rock drill.

Sandvik: TH551 and TH663 Underground Mining Trucks

Sandvik TH551 and TH663 underground mining trucks were introduced at MinExpo 2012 in Las Vegas and will be commercially launched in 2013.The TH551 is a 51 tonne payload truck powered by the 515 kW Volvo TAD1642VE-B engine (opt Tier 4i Volvo TAD1662VE), while the TH663 is a 63 tonne payload truck powered by the 567 kW Cummins QSK19 diesel engine.


Atlas Copco's New Range of Underground Loaders and Trucks.

Atlas Copco launched a new range, named The Green Line, of electric underground loaders and trucks. Scooptram EST1030 and EST14 are the new loaders of the electric range, while the EMT35 and EMT50 are the two new underground machines.

The new SLP-14H LHD from GHH Fahrzeuge

The SLP-14H is a 14 t load capacity low profile LHD introduced by GHH Fahrzeuge GmbH. The new machine is equiped with a 10 m3 bucket and is designed for minimum drift heights of 2000 mm. The new machine is powered by a 245 kW water cooled Deutz engine.

The Haggloader from Atlas Copco

Atlas Copco released a short presentation movie of the continuous loaders Häggloader 7HR, 8HR, 9HR and 10 HR. The Häggloader 7HR and 10 HR are rubber tired, the 8HR works on rails, while the 9HR is a crawler machine. The continuous electric loaders for mining and tunneling applications are designed to operate in narrow or limited work areas.

The MTM 6 (Mobile Tunnel Miner) from Aker Wirth

Aker Wirth developed a new tunneling system, which combines the flexibility of a roadheader with the robustness of a tunnel boring machine. The Mobile Tunnel Miner have a potential tunneling rate of 10 m per day and will be tested at the Rio Tinto Northparkes copper mine in Australia.

Trial Operations for 3 New Boring Systems

Strabag and Rio Tinto announced a partnership for field trials of two new tunnel boring systems and one shaft boring system. The three systems are developed in partnership between Rio Tinto and Aker Wirth, Atlas Copco and Herrenknecht.

Scooptram EST1030, a New Electric LHD Loader from Atlas Copco

Scooptram EST1030 is a new electric LHD loader, sharing 90% of it's components with the diesel Scooptram ST1030. Scooptram EST1030 consumes less energy, produces less heat and has a lower noise level.

The Atlas Copco Minetruck MT85

Atlas Copco Underground Rock Excavation Division announced at MINExpo the new Minetruck MT85. It will haul 85 tonnes and will be the largest articulated underground mining truck.
